The Bing Maps Platform http://www.bing.com/maps/ (previously Microsoft Virtual Earth) is a browser based virtual globe that displays both 2D and 3D mapping. Using it requires the user to install Microsoft Silverlight.
The imagery includes samples taken by satellite sensors, aerial cameras (including 45 degree oblique "bird's eye" aerial imagery licensed from Pictometry), Streetside imagery, 3D city models and terrain. Bing Maps Platform
