It all started with search .... Now the guys and girls at Google have turned out an amazing collection of software - and give it away for free. Some programs are so well conceived, feature packed and fully web-integrated that they are truly groundbreaking, like Google Earth and Gmail.
There is an exciting new trend in software design, and it is led by Google. We are talking about free online software. The advantages are many: automatic and relatively secure backup; no downloads or updates; easy sharing with friends and colleagues; good integration of packages (like Google docs and spreadsheets, or Sketchup and Google Earth). Google Sketchup

Drawing in 3D was never easy, until Google acquired Sketchup and improved on it - mainly to encourage people to model 3D buildings for Google Earth (a smart move, as it turned out; a large, free workforce having fun placing detailed architecture all over Google Earth).

SketchUp is 3D for everyone. Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, modify and share 3D models. It's easier to learn than other 3D modeling programs, which is why so many people are already using it. SketchUp's simplified toolset, guided drawing system and clean look-and-feel were designed to help you concentrate on two things: getting your work done as efficiently as possible, and having fun while doing it.
