RiffWorks T4- http://www.sonomawireworks.com/T4
- is a free
guitar recording and online song collaboration program for Mac and Windows. RiffWorks is designed and developed
by Sonoma Wire Works. The software can be downloaded from Sonoma Wire Works and includes guitar effects, drum
tracks, and online music collaboration system. Once
finished, songs can be posted on the website to share with everyone. There are pro versions available with
expanded capabilities, but the free T4 package gives you four layers plus drums, InstantDrummer, a profile page,
the ability to post online and iPhone app import. RiffWorks has a built-in online music collaboration system, RiffLink. Songs are saved on the server and guitarists can work on the same song file from different locations. The system has synchronization and chat features and integrates with RiffWorld, where users can post songs and get feedback from others. Guitarists have traditionally shied away from loopbased recording, associating it more with electronica and hip hop genres than guitar styles. However, more and more guitarists are turning to the digital realm for inspiration and software like Riffworks is helping them to explore these new sounds. | |||||||||
